Get BSNL Broadband ‘Work From Home’ FREE Plan

The Coronavirus Pandemic is getting severe in India, with over 400+ confirmed cases as of 23rd March 2020. Significant places will be going under lockdown, and people are asked to stay indoors.

Under these circumstances, it is evident that there will be a surge in demand for the internet, especially home broadbands.

A lot of people will be working from home to provide services, and several others will hook on to the internet, social networks, online streaming services, ordering products online, etc., leading to a vast internet surge.

To facilitate this, BSNL has come up with a ‘Work from Home’ plan that will provide internet access to all BSNL landline subscribers for free.

In today’s post, we will discuss the details of this plan in brief, and tell you how to avail it.

So let’s get started.

BSNL Free Broadband ‘Work@Home’ Plan:

Get BSNL Broadband 'Work From Home' FREE Plan

Who gets this plan?

This plan will be enabled to all BSNL Landline users across India, who ‘DOES NOT’ own broadband service. So, if you have a telephone landline connection from BSNL, you will get it. Your landline benefits will continue as usual. If you already have BSNL Broadband, you cannot avail of the offer.

What’re the benefits?

Under the ‘Work from Home’ Plan, you get 5GB Data per day for 30 days, with 10Mbps speeds. After consumption of 5GB, the rates will be reduced to 1Mbps for the rest of the day. So, all total, you will get 150GB Free Data in the entire period.

What are the Installation Charges and Security Deposit Amount?

Currently you do not need any Installation Charges or Security Deposits. You can enjoy the services free of cost, without paying anything.

What happens after a month?

After 30 days, your free plan will be converted to a regular Broadband plan and charged according to your usage. You have full rights to not use the Broadband. You won’t be charged.

How to avail of the offer?

If you are a BSNL Landline customer, you will be entitled to the benefits automatically. Just check with your BSNL provider.

I don’t have a BSNL Landline. How to avail of the offer?

Those who don’t have a BSNL Landline can sign up for a new landline connection. You will get the benefits of Work@Home automatically.

Verdict:

In my opinion, it is not that useful, since it is only offering the benefits to existing and new landline connections, and leaving out the existing broadband users. If BSNL is interested in providing benefits, they should enable this plan for everyone for a month, irrespective of whether they have landline or Broadband.

Also, although the daily limit of 5GB is quite generous, the speed cap of just 10Mbps makes it bad. I prefer a minimum of 30Mbps for smoothly working on my laptop. My home broadband connection runs at 80Mbps.

But well, this plan surely helps those who do not have any broadband connection and are under pressure to work from home in this lockdown period. For them, this is an ideal plan. And since BSNL is available throughout the length and breadth of this country, you will be able to benefit from it. Just reach out to them.

Do share this post with those who are trying to work from home and need the internet urgently. It might be helpful for them.
