The Ola Electric Scooter will be provided in two different models – S1 Variant and S1 Pro Variant, with the S1 Variant, mainly targeted to the budget-conscious users and the S1 Pro Variant focused on those users who want advanced performance and range in this type of electric scooters. The sales for this Electric Scooter start from 8th September onwards, and the delivery process will begin in October. Ola Electric also promised its users to deliver the electric scooter right to the customer’s doorway for their convenience.

Top Speed and Travel Range:

In terms of range and the top speed of the electric scooter, these are best-in-class figures as the S1 Pro Variant can reach a maximum speed of around 115 km/hr and is capable of providing a travel range of 181 km on a single full charge, with three riding modes which are – Normal, Sports and Hyper mode. On the other hand, the S1 Variant provides a top speed of around 90 km/hr and 121 km of travel range on a single charge along with two riding modes – Normal Mode and Sports Mode. 

Battery Capacity and Charging Power:

The Ola S1 has a 2.98 kWh lithium-ion battery pack and provides maximum power (or Peak Power) of 8.5 kW whereas, the S1 Pro Variant has a 3.97 kWh battery pack. Aside from the batteries cells which are made in Korea, most of the scooter parts are made and designed in India. The S1 and S1 Pro Variants comprise a portable 750W charger that can charge the electric scooter completely in just 4.48 hours and 6.30 hours. Ola S1 Series also features an exclusive feature called Battery Management System (BMS) that vigorously works to monitor the battery for its optimum durability, performance, travel range, and security.

But to make things convenient for the users, Ola will also establish the Hypercharger Network in India which will be the most extensive and densest electric 2-wheeler charging network in the world. The company will install more than 5,000 electric 2-wheeler chargers in 100 Indian cities in the first year alone. These fast chargers will be able to recharge the battery of the e-scooter up to 50% in just 18 minutes.

Performance:

The Ola S1 Variant can attain the speed from zero to 40 km/hr in just 3.6 seconds and from 0 to 60 km/hr in nearly 7 seconds. However, the S1 Pro Variant can accelerate from zero to 40 km/hr in 3 seconds, and from 0 to 60 km/hr can be reached in just 5 seconds. The Ola Electric Scooter utilizes the single-sided suspension and disc brakes along with the 110/70 – R12 MRF Tyres, at both ends. Both electric scooters have a massive torque of 58 Nm. 

Customization and Connectivity:

ola scooterThe Ola Electric Scooter has a huge TFT Display Panel that displays a lot of information which also comprises navigation and it also has a 3 GB RAM which is attached with an octa-core processor. This display panel also permits you to change between rider profiles, allowing for personalized customization on the electric scooter. In addition to this, the e-scooter also has an onboard navigation system, mobile app connectivity, AI-based voice assistance with built-in microphones and speakers on the electric scooter.

Like other electric scooters in the segment, it also has a reverse mode where you can reverse your e-scooter easily. Also, there is a Proximity Unlock sensor that starts up the electric scooter as you come near the scooter. The electric scooter can be unlocked through the mobile application, the display panel of the e-scooter, or by walking nearby to the scooter. S1 Pro Variant also has a Hill Hold function, Cruise Control, and Voice Assistant functions in the electric scooter but unfortunately, these special features are not available in the Ola S1 Variant.

Designs and Color Options:

These comprise Blue, Red, Silver, Yellow, Pink, Gold, White, Grey, and Black. Also, these color options will be accessible or available in various finishes like metallic, matte, and light-tone or pastel finish. All the color variants are single-tone color options, which blend well with the overall structure and aesthetics of the electrical scooter.

Security and Comfort:

Ola has also stated that the electric scooter comprises an SOS Function that can inform the medical services and police authorities in case of a sudden accident. The Ola S1 Variant also comes with an anti-theft alert system in the electric scooter, along with geo-fencing and the battery in this e-scooter that is flame-resistant, waterproof, and dust-resistant. Ola Electric has also claimed in the launch event that this e-scooter will have the largest load space or boot space in its segment ever. The Ola S1 Series has a 36-liter under-seat boot space that can hold a lot of luggage like 2 helmets and many more things.
