Redmi 4 Full Phone Specifications and First Impressions

The Chinese Giant Xiaomi is back once again with their new Smartphone Launch in India. The device is named the Redmi 4. Again, it is a budget smartphone, even cheaper than the Redmi Note 4. This variant can be considered equivalent to the Redmi 3s and 3s Prime that launched last year, which was even cheaper than the Redmi Note 3.

The first things to say is that even now, the popularity of their last year’s budget models have not gone down. Still, Redmi 3S Prime is considered one of the cheapest fully featured handset one can possibly live with.

But its good to see that Xiaomi has worked on bringing even better smartphone models at equivalent pricing point. They have truly understood the potential of the Indian market. However, one thing still hurts, that they launch old models in their Indian market. These were already released in the Chinese market months ago.

Well, let’s check out other details about the Phone.

Redmi 4: Is it Worth?

200% Worth. Redmi knows how to play and what to play in the Indian Market. It's a great choice for budget users who wants to enjoy a smooth and sexy mobile with all the necessary features. The only downside may be the lack of Stock Android, but well, you cannot expect everything in a tight budget. Three Redmi Symbolic things I liked the most is the inclusion of Fingerprint Sensor, the IR Blaster, and VoLTE native support.

Value for Money
  • Inclusion of Fingerprint Sensor. Last year in Redmi 3S Variant, the Fingerprint Sensor was missing. I am glad that they included it.
  • 4100mah Battery: Due to the 5inch Screen Size, this will power the device even better
  • IR Blaster: Something Redmi packs with all their devices. A very important time saver, which other brands totally ignore.
  • Native VoLTE Support: You can use Jio Sim
  • 16GB Internal Memory: Its too short. They could have altered the price a bit and started with 32GB
  • Lack of Stock Android: Not a Problem for me, MIUI is a compact rom on its own, smooth, but I still love the Material Design
  • Snapdragon 430 Processor: Similar to last year's Redmi 3S, I hoped for an Upgraded one.

Last Words:

The Redmi 4 will be available via Flash Sale on and Amazon India starting 23rd May. But if you stay in Bangalore, you can also buy it offline from their Mi Home offline store, Chennai. Soon more Mi Homes will be set up at Mumbai, Delhi, and Hyderabad. So, it won’t be as much hard like it was for their other devices, to grab them during the flash sales.

That’s all for now. I will soon be back with another interesting update.
