Minimum system requirements for Windows 11

  • CPU: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster, 2-core processor with a minimum of 2 cores, or System on a Chip (SoC)
  • RAM: At least 4 gigabytes (GB)
  • Storage: 64 GB or more storage device
  • System firmware: UEFI, Secure Boot capable
  • TPM: Trusted Platform Module (TPM) version 2.0
  • GPU: Graphics card must be compatible with DirectX 12 or later with WDDM 2.x
  • Display: High Definition display (720p), greater than 9” diagonally, and 8 bits per color channel
  • Internet Connection and Microsoft account: Windows 11 Home edition needs internet connectivity and a Microsoft to complete installation.
    Internet connectivity is also required while switching a device out of Windows 11 Home in S mode.
    A Microsoft account and Internet connectivity are required for future updates and to take advantage of some features. 

Method 1: Install Windows 11 by joining Windows Insider Program

  1. Windows Insider Program can be joined via Microsoft’s website. After visiting the site, sign in with a Microsoft account, and it will show the terms and conditions for Insider Program. Read the Important Notice and Program Agreement, and accept it by clicking on the check box at the bottom. Finally, Click on the Register now button.
  2. Users can also join the Insider Program via Windows 10. To do so, click on the Start Menu.
  3. Now, click on the Settings button on the left side of the Start Menu.

  4. Then select the Update & Security option.

  5. Under the Update & Security, select the Windows Insider Program from the left side panel.

  6. It may ask users to enable the Optional diagnostic data option under Settings > Privacy > Diagnostic & feedback. If it’s already done, jump to step 9.

  7. After enabling the Optional diagnostic data option, select Get started in the Windows Insider Program menu.

  8. Now it will ask to link Microsoft account, add it and select Register.

  9. Now a Pick your Insider settings window will appear, select the Dev Channel option, and hit Confirm.

  10. After completing all the above steps, restart the computer. Now, go to the Start Menu open Settings, and choose the Update & Security option. Check available Windows updates under the Windows Update side menu. Download the updates and restart the computer again.

If you are unable to perform Windows 11 updates via Windows Insider Program, you can still install Windows 11 using an ISO file. To do so, please proceed with Method 2.

Method 2: Install Windows 11 using an ISO file:

  1. Download the ISO file by clicking the Download button.

  2. Using Rufus, make a bootable USB drive (with at least 16 GB of space). To do so, just download Rufus and select the downloaded Windows 11 ISO file.
  3. Don’t change any of the settings and keep them all as default. Then, click on the Start button to start flashing Windows 11 into your USB drive.
  4. Plug the USB drive into your system and restart your computer. While restarting the computer, press the BOOT key to enter the boot menu. 
  5. Choose the USB Drive as a primary boot device under Boot device Options. This will boot your system into the USB drive or Windows 11 boot device. 
  6. Save the settings, and press the Enter button to start the Windows 11 installation process. 
  7. Now choose your preferred language, time, and keyboard input method.
  8. After completing the above steps, click on the Install Now button.
  9. If you don’t have a product key, click on the I don’t have a product key option. 
  10. Select the Windows 11 edition that you want to install and select the preferred partition.
  11. Click on the Next button, and it will start installing Windows 11 on your system.
  12. The whole process may take several restarts, so be patient throughout the installation process. 

Many users may face the TPM 2.0/Secure boot not found error while installing the Windows. Follow the process discussed below to fix the issue.

Error-fix: TPM 2.0/Secure Boot not found

Sometimes, while installing Windows 11, users face an error stating that the TPM 2.0 or secure boot was not found, and couldn’t install the Windows. To fix this issue, users need to download the DLL file by clicking the following Download button.

After downloading the .dll file, go to the mounted drive, open the Sources folder and replace the appraiserres.dll file. After doing this, continue the installation without any error.
